Mayor Phil Goodwin proudly serves as the chief executive officer of the Town of Smithville under its code charter form of government.  Elected by the citizens, Mayor Goodwin is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the municipality, ensuring that local ordinances are faithfully executed, and representing the town with integrity and dedication.

His duties include:

• Presiding over meetings of the Board of Aldermen
• Providing leadership in policy development and community initiatives
• Signing official documents such as ordinances, resolutions and proclamations
• Coordinating with town departments to ensure efficient public services
• Advocating for Smithville's interests at the county and state levels
• Promoting transparency, civic engagement, and pride in Smithville's heritage
